Daniel Clay is a woodworker, designer and artist based in Knoxville, TN. He is an alumni of The Carpenter’s Boatshop apprenticeship program (’06) where he studied wooden boatbuilding, Shaker oval boxes, Appalachian ladder-back chairs and spoon and bowl carving. This was followed by a two-year stint as an apprentice timber framer under Hope For Architecture’s Clay Chapman. In 2016 Daniel started Saturday Box Company, a home decor business dedicated to producing his own functional and decorative designs, custom woodworking and exploring contemporary expressions of traditional forms and woodworking techniques.
